KatadataOTO – PT SIS (Suzuki Indomobil Sales) is aggressively introducing a number of environmentally friendly product lines with mild hybrid technology in Indonesia.

In terms of price, the mild hybrid is sold at a more competitive price. It is also still available in a manual transmission variant to meet consumer needs.

However, in the future, Suzuki will strengthen its portfolio of environmentally friendly vehicles by bringing in electric cars.

When confirmed about the continuation of the eVX, also known as the e Vitara, which was exhibited at the IIMS (Indonesia International Motor Show) 2025, Suzuki emphasized that the approach towards electrification is still ongoing.

“Strategically, our approach uses what is called a multi-pathway,” said Dony Saputra, Deputy 4W Sales & Marketing Managing Director of PT SIS in Jakarta some time ago.

He emphasized that Suzuki is first approaching consumers through mild hybrid technology. Only then will it gradually move to battery-based electric cars.

“Whether it's from ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) combined with BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) to become a mild hybrid, then we jump directly to BEV, or to fuel cells and so on. Strategically, we call this a multi-pathway,” said Dony.

Unfortunately, he was reluctant to explain in more detail regarding the presence of the eVX or e Vitara electric car in Indonesia.

For your information, in February 2025, Suzuki confirmed the arrival of the e Vitara electric car in Indonesia in early 2026.

Born as the eVX concept car, the model combines capable technology and an adventurous character.

Before being exhibited in Indonesia, the e Vitara debuted at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in India on January 17, 2025, as their first EV.

Compared to the concept version, the e Vitara received several adjustments to the exterior, such as conventional door handles replacing the flush design.

The tri-LED DRL (Daytime Running Light) at the front is still the same as the eVX, only slightly larger in size.

In terms of dimensions, the model's L x W x H measurements are 4,275 mm x 1,800 mm x 1,635 mm, while its wheelbase is 2,700 mm.

For comparison, this is not much different from the Chery Omoda E5 electric car, which has a length of 4,424 mm, a width of 1,830 mm, a height of 1,588 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,630 mm.

The battery used is made of LFP (Lithium Ferro Phosphate) material in two capacity options, 49 kWh or 61 kWh. It offers a driving range of up to 500 km on a single charge.
