KatadataOTO – Suzuki Sales in May 2025 achieved quite satisfactory results. Based on Gaikino data, the Japanese manufacturer experienced growth, especially in terms of retail sales.

Throughout May 2025, Suzuki sales reached 4,523 units, an increase from the previous month which only managed to sell 4,077 units. Thus, the total units successfully delivered to customers in the last five months is 22,240 units.

That achievement was enough to place them in the fourth position of manufacturers with the largest sales in the country. Of that total, locally produced cars are claimed to be the backbone.

"The 81 percent dominance of locally assembled vehicles in Suzuki's retail sales throughout May 2025 is an appreciation of the hard work of thousands of local workers and the involvement of hundreds of supporting companies incorporated in the supply chain,” explained Randy R. Murdoko, Dept. Head of 4W Sales PT SIS.

The Suzuki Carry is still the model most in demand by the Indonesian public. Significantly, the model contributed 55 percent of total vehicle sales.

“Suzuki's retail sales are heavily influenced by business owners. They need operational vehicles that are accommodating for various purposes,” added Randy.

Besides the Suzuki Carry, sales of the XL7 and Ertiga are also claimed to have received a good response from the public. This strengthens the company's position as one of the largest car manufacturers in the country.

Wholesales Still Under Pressure

Despite good results in retail sales, Suzuki's wholesale figures for May 2025 are still low. It was recorded that they were only able to ship 3,921 units from the factory to dealers, a decrease compared to the previous month's 4,145 units.

However, Suzuki's sales are believed to improve in the coming months. This is because they have launched a locally made car, the Fronx, which is believed to be able to meet the public's needs.

The car is even targeted to sell as many as 2,000 units per month. The highest variant is believed to be the most sought-after option by the public.
