KatadataOTO – Suzuki's seriousness in developing electric cars in Indonesia is becoming more apparent. This is proven by their commitment to present a concept electric car at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025.

This is certainly interesting because Suzuki does not yet have an electric car in the country.

“Suzuki knows that IIMS 2025 is an international event, so we want to present something fresh and shown for the first time in Indonesia," said Zulfikar Rafi Al Ghany, Head of PR at PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS).

Although not mentioned specifically, the silhouette shown in the media reveals several characteristics of the Y2V. The model is rumored to be launched globally in 2028.

The Suzuki Y2V was first displayed in India some time ago and has become the company's spearhead to compete in the affordable electric car segment.

This car is planned to come with a 35 kWh capacity battery. That amount is actually much smaller compared to the Suzuki e Vitara, which just made its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

Besides bringing a concept car, Suzuki will also display its lineup of other mainstay vehicles. The manufacturer has even provided a special test drive area for their cars.

“The location is behind the President Soekarno statue, so it is easily accessible to visitors,” Zulfikar Rafi Al Ghany later revealed.

The test drive location has also been adjusted so that potential customers can experience the performance of the vehicle being tested.

He also added that his party will offer various attractive promos for every vehicle purchase during the event. A number of prizes have been prepared for lucky customers.

“We have prepared various conveniences, including prizes such as motorcycles and precious metals for customers who purchase a vehicle at IIMS 2025,” he affirmed.

Not only that, he is also ready to provide various other conveniences such as credit packages, making it easier for the public to make a purchase.
