KatadataOTO – Suzuki Motor Corporation is ready to present a new electrified product at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 at the end of October 2025.

The model presented is an electric-powered kei car. It should be noted that kei cars are a type of vehicle widely used in the Land of the Rising Sun.

The presence of Suzuki's electric kei car seems to be a response to the Chinese manufacturer, BYD, which also intends to bring electric kei cars to the Japanese market in the future.

With Japanese-made cars still dominating the roads, it seems the presence of the Suzuki Vision e-Sky electric car will be easily accepted by consumers there.

Kei cars are widely used for mobility in urban areas and for short-distance travel, especially during the holiday season.

“This model will be sold in the 2026 fiscal year as an electric car that meets the daily needs of small car users,” wrote an official Suzuki statement quoted on Thursday (09/10).

There are no complete specifications yet for the Suzuki Vision e-Sky kei car. However, the manufacturer with the S emblem has provided a sneak peek of its dimensions and range.

The Suzuki Vision e-Sky has a design like typical small cars in Japan, which is minimalist, compact, and without many additional ornaments.

However, a futuristic impression is embedded through the use of pixel-patterned LED headlights complete with a light bar extending above the Suzuki logo.

The two-tone color combination on the published model, which is white and blue, makes the Suzuki Vision e-Sky look unique.

The model has a length of 3,395 mm, a width of 1,457 mm, and a height of 1,625 mm.

Meanwhile, on a single charge, the Suzuki Vision e-Sky is claimed to be able to travel up to 270 kilometers.

It seems Suzuki will only publish the complete specifications of the product at its official launch next year.

Because it will enter the kei car segment, there is a high probability that the Suzuki Vision e-Sky will be marketed only in Japan.

For context, a kei car is like the Japanese version of a Low Cost Green Car (LCGC).

The price is more competitive with a small size and limited engine capacity. However, there is no electric-powered version yet.

The presence of the Suzuki Vision e-Sky could be the key to popularizing electric cars in Japan, before Chinese manufacturers begin to expand.
