KatadataOTO – Hyundai Venue is being prepared by PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) as an entry-level model to be launched at IIMS 2025 to target more consumers.

However, it seems the wholesale figures (distribution from factory to dealer) for the Hyundai Venue are not satisfactory.

Referring to data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), only 31 units of the Hyundai Venue were delivered.

Then, throughout GIIAS 2025, this model was absent from the Hyundai booth. The Korean brand instead brought the Stargazer Cartenz and other flagship lines including the Palisade and Santa Fe Hybrid.

When asked about the fate of the Hyundai Venue in the country, a salesperson at the time mentioned that the unit could still be ordered even though it was no longer displayed at the exhibition.

Meanwhile, a representative from PT HMID confirmed that the car is still for sale. The Hyundai Venue is one form of the manufacturer's commitment to presenting models across segments.

“That was proven during IIMS 2025, where we tried to introduce the Venue. That is a sign that Hyundai is actually interested in that segment,” said Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, Chief Operating Officer of PT HMID some time ago.

Although it cannot be denied, models in more expensive segments, according to Hyundai, have actually achieved better results compared to the Venue.

As a rough illustration, the newest Hyundai Palisade Hybrid, which is sold for Rp 1 billion and above, had 116 units distributed (wholesales) throughout July 2025.

However, reflecting on this, coupled with the weakening purchasing power of the middle class, Frans revealed that Hyundai's product development focus in Indonesia is still in the B-segment, or the size of the Creta.

For your information, the Hyundai Venue has a similar posture to the Creta. However, its dimensions are more compact.

Unlike the Creta, which is locally assembled, the Hyundai Venue is a completely built-up (CBU) import from India.

Touted as a competitor to the Toyota Raize, the Hyundai Venue is equipped with a 1,000 cc Turbo GDI engine, capable of producing 118 hp and a peak torque of 172 Nm.

Power is sent to the front wheels via a Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) or a seven-speed automatic transmission.

Only one variant is available, the 1.0L Turbo. As of August 2025, the price is Rp 340 million on the road in Jakarta.
