KatadataOTO – The luxury sports car BYD YangWang U9 is a special treat at GIIAS 2025. Appearing for the first time in Indonesia, the car demonstrates the latest suspension technology developed by BYD.

The technology is called the DiSus Intelligent Body Control System. The one used in the YangWang U9 is the Disus-X.

It should be noted that there are six types of DiSus made by BYD, namely DiSus-C, DiSus-A, DiSus-P, DiSus-M, DiSus-Z, and DiSus-X.

All six have different performance levels tailored to the car's needs. For example, in the latest BYD Seal released in Indonesia, its suspension is equipped with DiSus-C.

“DiSus has an architectural system of a perception layer, decision layer, and execution layer. Perception is analogous to the eyes (seeing information), which is then processed by the decision layer before being channeled to the execution layer,” said Bobby Bharata, Head of Product at PT BYD Motor Indonesia, during the Denza Tech Auto Talk session at GIIAS 2025, on Monday (28/07).

The DiSus-X embedded in the YangWang U9 gets an additional Preview Control, also known as a LiDAR sensor.

LiDAR helps the sensors in each suspension to know the condition of the road that the YangWang U9 is about to drive over.

Interestingly, all the sensors in the suspension can respond in a very short time, specifically 40 milliseconds.

“Because the response time is 40 milliseconds, that's why this car can jump,” said Bobby.

Actually, the main purpose of embedding DiSus in a number of BYD vehicle lines is to balance cabin comfort with the car's performance stability.

However, Bobby did not deny that for the BYD YangWang U9, the goal is to showcase the technological advancements of the automotive industry.

“The YangWang U9 demonstrates how a vehicle can use independent suspension,” said Luther T. Panjaitan, Head of PR & Government Relations at PT BYD Motor Indonesia, on the same occasion.

For your information, the BYD YangWang U9 technology demonstration can be seen live at the BYD booth during the GIIAS 2025 event.

Visitors can also see various other vehicle lines, including the newest BYD Atto 1 model, as well as the premium sub-brand Denza, which is presenting two products, namely the D9 and Z9.
