The Suzuki Baleno's Golden Era Ends as the Fronx Hits the Market

KatadataOTO – Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) is currently focusing on marketing their new car in Indonesia, namely the Suzuki Fronx. The product is claimed to have received a positive response from consumers.

However, amidst this sweet condition, the fate of the Suzuki Baleno is now on the line.

This hatchback seems to no longer be a mainstay in the sales strategy of the Japanese manufacturer.

The Suzuki Baleno is said to still be available at a number of dealers. However, it no longer receives active distribution support or major promotions.

“Currently, for our two-row models, we have the Suzuki Grand Vitara (priced) above Rp 350 million. Previously, there was also the Baleno, which is still sold at some of our dealer partners, in the price range of Rp 250 million – Rp 300 million,” said Donny Saputra, Deputy Managing Director of SIS in Senayan, Jakarta some time ago.

Donny further explained that he does not know in detail how much Suzuki Baleno stock is left in the market. However, it is very likely that only a few remain.

Then, sales for models still imported from India will be discontinued in the near future.

“Most likely (it will be discontinued), with availability for the Suzuki Baleno ending around this month. There will be more information later on the fate of the Baleno itself,” Donny added.

Donny also did not explain why his party wants to stop selling the Suzuki Baleno in the country.

For your information, the Suzuki Baleno comes with a sporty look. It is equipped with a chrome-plated grille to add a charming impression.

The four-wheeled vehicle is equipped with a main LED Projector lighting system with Guide Me Light and Auto Headlight functions.

Speaking of the Suzuki Fronx's dimensions, the car has a length of 3,990 mm, a width of 1,745 mm, a height of 1,510 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,520 mm.

Moving to the mechanical heart, the Suzuki Baleno carries a K15B-coded engine with a capacity of 1,500 cc.

The powertrain is claimed to be able to produce up to 103.1 hp at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm.

Finally, a number of modern features are also embedded in the Suzuki Baleno. Starting from ESP or Electronic Stability Program, then Hill Hold Control, Anti-Lock Braking System, Brake Assist, and six airbags.
