KatadataOTO – Thousands of residents of Pati Regency are holding a massive demonstration. The event took place in front of the Pati Regent's Office on Wednesday (13/08).
Today's demonstration is part of a continuing wave of protests against a number of controversial policies made by Sudewo, the Regent of Pati.
A large crowd demanded that Sudewo step down from his position. They were disappointed by the regent's previous statements.
In a video that circulated widely on social media, the demonstration by the people of Pati Regency heated up, especially when Sudewo met with the protesters.
The Regent was seen wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, glasses, and a black peci (cap) as he climbed into a police Tactical Vehicle (Rantis).
“Assalamualaikum wr wb, I sincerely apologize. I will do better,” said Sudewo in a video uploaded by the TikTok account Uliel Ahmed.
Not long after, the Regent of Pati was immediately attacked by the protesters. He was pelted by the crowd with sandals and mineral water bottles.
An aide and a Brimob (Mobile Brigade Corps) member who were nearby immediately protected Sudewo with a shield.
The throwing became more massive from the protesters, so Sudewo was forced to get back inside the police tactical vehicle.
Upon inspection, the tactical vehicle used by the Regent of Pati is a Rimueng, the same type used by the police during the raid on Ferdy Sambo's house.
According to the X account of the Indonesian National Police's Mobile Brigade Corps Public Relations, the Rimueng tactical vehicle is a mainstay for long-range patrols and VVIP security.
“The Rimueng Long-Range Patrol tactical vehicle is a support vehicle for transporting personnel and equipment belonging to the Mobile Brigade Corps used in operational duties,” they wrote.
In the post, it was mentioned that the Rimueng tactical vehicle used by the Regent of Pati can carry many people. The cabin can accommodate eight people.
Then, eight people can stand on the left and right sides of the vehicle, thus accommodating the needs of the Mobile Brigade Corps members.
Like other tactical vehicles, the Rimueng has a distinctive, boxy design. It has a bulletproof body and glass windows with a thickness of 38 mm.
It is also equipped with a gun mount for an assault rifle. Then there are two tear gas volcano launchers containing 15 rounds.
The Rimueng tactical vehicle is claimed to be capable of moving in extreme terrain, even on slopes of up to 60 degrees, such as in the mountains.
As for the engine, it carries a 3,200 cc engine. Unfortunately, the horsepower and torque figures produced are not specified in detail.
