Here are the specifications of the electric tactical vehicle from PT Pindad, the Pandu EV, which has a range of 400 km.
KatadataOTO – PT Pindad introduced the latest version of the MV3 Maung Garuda tactical vehicle. This time, it is electric-powered and named Pandu EV or MV3 Electric Pandu.
For your information, PT Pindad is a member of the state-owned enterprise (BUMN) defense industry, Defend ID. The company actively supplies defense equipment for the needs of the TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces).
The newest vehicle from PT Pindad made its debut at the Indo Defence 2025 exhibition after being officially inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, at the event's opening.
This tactical vehicle was developed from the same base as the MV3. Using electric power, the Pandu EV is claimed to offer silent operation and capable power.
“This is designed with military specifications. It meets the required standards, from speed, obstacle course testing capabilities, range, and so on, which have been adjusted,” said Prima Kharisma, Director of Technology and Development at PT Pindad in Jakarta, on Thursday (12/05).
The Pandu EV has a capacity for four passengers, with its dimensions being quite large at 4,760 mm in length, 2,200 mm in width, 1,950 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,865 mm. Meanwhile, its ground clearance is claimed to be around 220 mm.
A permanent magnet synchronous electric motor is embedded. Paired with an NCM battery that has a capacity of up to 100 kWh, the electric tactical vehicle can produce 227 hp and a peak torque of 315 Nm, delivered to the wheels through a Single Reduction Gearbox automatic transmission.
Then, according to a statement from PT Pindad, the speed of the Pandu EV electric tactical vehicle is limited to 100 km/h.
The introduction of the Pandu EV is expected to be a manifestation of PT Pindad's commitment as a self-reliant defense industry that is technology-based and environmentally friendly.
“The presence of the Pandu EV is proof that the domestic defense industry has the competence to be adaptive to current developments, the latest technology, and to transform sustainably,” said Sigit P. Santosa, President Director of PT Pindad in an official broadcast.
