KatadataOTO – Car sales from factory to dealer have grown compared to the previous month. In September 2025, wholesales of four-wheeled vehicles in the country reached 62,071 units.
This figure is up 294 units or 0.5 percent from August 2025. At that time, vehicle shipments from factory to dealer reached 61,777 units.
Interestingly, in September 2025, not a single electric vehicle made it into the top 20 best-selling cars. Whereas in August 2025, at least two EVs entered the top 20 best-selling models in the country.
The high wholesale figures for 2025 are inseparable from the positive records of several models in the country. Based on Gaikindo data, the Toyota Kijang Innova Reborn became the most shipped four-wheeled vehicle, reaching 3,407 units.
This number increased drastically compared to the achievement in August 2025, which was only 2,089 units.
Meanwhile, the second rank was occupied by the Toyota Avanza after 2,804 units were successfully shipped to dealers. However, this figure is smaller than last month's achievement of 3,148 units.
The next best-selling car in September 2025 was still the Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix. This MPV managed to record sales of 2,726 units, a growth from the previous month's 2,089 units.
Next is the Toyota Calya, which recorded wholesales of 2,523 units. Looking at the Gaikindo data, the wholesales of this LCGC increased slightly, as in August it only achieved 2,285 units.
The Toyota Rush closes out the top 5 best-selling cars in the country with wholesales of 2,273 units. Dealer demand for this SUV surged, as in August 2025 its sales were 1,949 units.
Although it managed to sit in sixth place and become the best-selling non-Toyota car, the Honda Brio's wholesales require attention. This is because shipments in September 2025 decreased from the previous month, from an initial 2,346 units to only 2,104 units.
A sales decrease also occurred for the Mitsubishi Destinator, as in August 2025 it managed to sell 2,213 units. Meanwhile, in September 2025, unit shipments to dealers were only 2,042 units.
Pressure was also seen on the Daihatsu Sigra, as it only managed to sit in eighth place by recording wholesales of 1,738 units. That number is down from August's 2,377 units.
However, a positive record was achieved by the Honda HR-V as it successfully shipped 1,474 units. This figure is higher than last month's 1,342 units.
Meanwhile, closing out the top 10 is the Toyota Agya, which recorded sales of 1,342 units. Compared to the previous month's achievement, this is a significant increase, as its wholesales in August 2025 were 797 units.
