KatadataOTO – Toyota Indonesia is holding an eco-friendly vehicle exhibition titled ‘Beyond Zero: Mobility for Carbon Neutrality’. This event showcases the multi-pathway technology that has often been the company's mainstay in achieving carbon neutrality.
It showcases the efforts of the Indonesian automotive industry's transition towards being more environmentally friendly. Various developments have been made to help reduce the negative impacts of pollution.
“From biofuel and flexy-fuel technology to hybrid electric vehicles, battery electric vehicles to hydrogen fuel cell technology, the Beyond Zero concept demonstrates Toyota's dedication to pushing the boundaries of innovation,” said Masahiko Maeda, CEO of Toyota's Asia Region, on the sidelines of the opening ceremony (12/02).
Meanwhile, Nandi Julyanto, President Director of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN), revealed that the company cannot move alone but must collaborate with other parties.
“We realize that the emission reduction target cannot be achieved by one party or a single technology alone. Therefore, in this event, we are presenting various types of vehicles and energy technologies with a multi-pathway strategy,” he later stated.
He also said that all technologies contribute to reducing carbon emissions, and reducing fuel imports can improve the national trade balance. Moreover, vehicle spare parts suppliers have always been a labor-intensive business.
This event will take place for four days from February 12 to 15, 2025, at JIExpo Kemayoran. Here, visitors can experience and test drive a variety of eco-friendly vehicles.
It includes low-emission and high-tech vehicles with eco-friendly fuels, flexy-fuel engines (biodiesel, bio-ethanol), converted cars, and electrified vehicles (HEV, PHEV, BEV, FCEV) that contribute to emission reduction.
With this, the public can become more familiar with Toyota's numerous eco-friendly products.
"In line with the Beyond Zero vision, Toyota encourages public participation in reducing emissions by offering a complete range of electrified vehicles (xEV) for all segments,” said Hiroyuki Ueda, President Director of PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM).
