KatadataOTO – Toyota reveals that February will be a time for the public to purchase vehicles. This is because the Lebaran homecoming season will begin at the end of March 2025.

Therefore, they will maximize the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025. This is because the event is believed to be one that the public will use to order vehicles.

“Leading up to the fasting month and the Lebaran holiday, it is usually one of the public's favorite times to purchase a vehicle. Additionally, a motor show event like IIMS is also hoped to contribute positively,” said Anton Jimmi Suwandy, Marketing Director of PT TAM (Toyota Astra Motor) to KatadataOTO (03/02).

He also believes that seven-seater cars will be the most sought-after choice by the public. This is because the vehicles will be used for trips to their hometowns.

“The car types themselves are likely still dominated by 7-seaters, both MPVs and SUVs. This is because they will be widely needed for homecoming trips, which require spacious accommodation,” he later added.

He also emphasized that they will offer various sales promotions to attract more customers.

Toyota Sales in 2024

It should be noted that throughout 2024, Toyota remained the manufacturer with the largest vehicle sales in Indonesia. During that period, they successfully sold 293,788 units, capturing 33 percent of the national market.

This figure is lower than the achievement in the same period last year, which was 325,395 units, equivalent to 32.6 percent of the total market.

A decline was also seen in the company's wholesales in 2024. From January to December last year, vehicle shipments from the factory to dealers totaled 288,982 units, or 33.4 percent of the market.

This number is clearly smaller than the achievement in the same period last year, which was 336,777 units, giving Toyota a 33.5 percent share of the total market.
