KatadataOTO – After presenting a number of electric cars in the passenger vehicle segment, the Vietnamese brand, VinFast, seems to be preparing for the arrival of a new product in Indonesia.

This time it's not a passenger vehicle or a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) like those currently on the market, but a minivan that is strongly believed to be the EC Van.

The model's design was registered in the Official Industrial Design Gazette No. 74/DI/2025 with application number A00202506830.

Also listed in the data is that the applicant for the industrial design is VinFast Trading and Production Joint Stock Company, located in Vietnam.

VinFast EC Van was previously introduced in its home country on May 13, 2025. This model aims to provide an environmentally friendly vehicle option for commercial needs.

The EC Van is also the first electric cargo car in Vietnam. The model is designed with compact dimensions but offers a spacious cargo capacity of 2,600 liters and can accommodate a weight of up to 600 kilograms.

The L x W x H dimensions of the EC Van are 3,767 mm x 1,680 mm x 1,790 mm. Its passenger capacity is two people in the front row.

In Vietnam, the EC Van will be used as part of the Xanh SM taxi service, now known as Green SM in Indonesia.

In the future, consumers will be able to use the goods delivery service from Green SM, which uses the EC Van fleet.

For your information, the VinFast EC Van is equipped with a 17 kWh battery, offering a range of 175 kilometers on a single charge.

The price of the VinFast EC Van in Vietnam starts from 285 million VND, including the battery. If converted to rupiah, this figure is equivalent to around Rp 181.1 million.

There is no official information from VinFast regarding the EC Van yet. However, it is possible they will bring the product as an introduction at the last automotive exhibition of the year, the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week or GJAW 2025.
