KatadataOTO – VinFast offers several electric car models for Indonesian consumers. However, this year, the Vietnamese manufacturer intends to introduce electric motorcycles.

Not long ago in its home country, three new models of VinFast electric motorcycles were launched. All of them use the battery swap method.

One of the models that is quite attention-grabbing is the VinFast Viper. At a glance, its design looks like the Honda Vario scooter.

The difference is that the VinFast Viper relies entirely on electric power. The Viper is equipped with two LFP material swap batteries, claimed to be safer and each having a capacity of 1.5 kWh.

With two full batteries, the VinFast Viper can travel up to 165 kilometers.

Other models, namely the Evo and Feliz II, are also equipped with similar technical specifications. However, their designs are different.

The VinFast Evo and Feliz II feature a more retro and elegant look, without many ornaments on the body.

Along with that, VinFast also introduced the Amio electric bicycle. Like electric bicycles in general, the Amio's appearance is quite simple.

The VinFast Amio uses a built-in battery for its operation. The material is LFP and it has a capacity of 1.02 kWh.

On a single full charge, the VinFast Amio is said to be able to travel 65 kilometers. Then its maximum speed is 30 kilometers per hour.

It is not yet certain which electric motorcycle model VinFast will bring to Indonesia. However, a VinFast representative in the country has confirmed they will bring their selected products in early 2026.

For the initial stage, VinFast's electric motorcycles for Indonesian consumers will still have a Completely Built Up (CBU) status, or be fully imported.

“What is certain is that for electric motorcycles, we will first introduce them with the Completely Built Up (CBU) scheme early next year,” said Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, CEO of VinFast Indonesia, some time ago.

This is interesting because VinFast has decided to bring in electric motorcycles at a time when the government is no longer providing clarity on the Rp 7 million incentive as previously implemented.

VinFast has the opportunity to locally assemble its electric motorcycle line in Indonesia. They already have their own factory located in Subang, West Java.
