VinFast sales surged at the end of the year, with retail figures successfully exceeding 7,000 units.
KatadataOTO – VinFast recorded positive sales growth throughout the 2025 period. Interestingly, towards the end of the year in December, the figure soared from 168 units in November to 7,673 units.
It should be noted that VinFast offers several electric car models for consumers, such as the VF 3, VF 5, VF 7, and VF e34.
Referring to data from the Association of Indonesia Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), VinFast's total retail sales (from dealers to consumers) were 10,630 units.
Gaikindo revealed that several factors triggered the sales growth in December 2025.
For example, new vehicle sales programs and price cuts or discounts for certain models.
When confirmed, VinFast stated that the retail sales figures reported to Gaikindo are not just for passenger vehicles for individual consumers.
“This figure includes sales to individual consumers as well as some units distributed to fleet operators,” said Kariyanto Hardjosoemanto, CEO of VinFast Indonesia, in his statement to KatadataOTO on Tuesday (13/01).
The fleet in question is the online taxi service from Vietnam, namely Green SM. Previously known as Xanh SM.
Green SM uses the VF e34 and VF 5 as its base. Both are already sold to the mass market with varying prices, starting from Rp 200 million to Rp 300 million on the road in Jakarta.
It should be noted that Green SM first began operating in Indonesia at the end of 2024.
At that time, the initial target was to operate 1,000 units of the VinFast taxi fleet. However, this has continued to increase over time.
VinFast aims to have a fleet of 10,000 Green SM taxis in Indonesia by 2025.
“The retail sales data was reported to Gaikindo in accordance with applicable market reporting standards,” Kariyanto affirmed.
