Honda UC3 is one of the candidates for a new electric motorcycle in Indonesia, currently only offered in Thailand.
KatadataOTO – The Honda UC3 electric motorcycle recently debuted in Thailand on January 9, 2025. Besides Thailand, the UC3 will also be sold in Vietnam.
This is one form of Honda's commitment to expanding its portfolio of environmentally friendly vehicles in the Asian market.
Upon further investigation, it turns out the Honda electric motorcycle brand UC3 has been registered at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (PDKI).
The Honda UC3 is listed with registration number IDM001340781 by Honda Motor Co., Ltd, located in Tokyo, Japan.
It should be noted that the Honda UC3 is an electric motorcycle with a built-in battery, said to be the equivalent of a conventional 110 cc motorcycle.
Like Honda's other electric motorcycle lines, the UC3 focuses on urban mobility with high quality and safety standards.
The UC3 is equipped with an LFP or Lithium Iron Phosphate battery that offers a range of 122 kilometers on a single charge.
In Thailand, the price of the Honda UC3 is 132,600 Baht, or around Rp 71.1 million when converted to the rupiah exchange rate.
If it enters Indonesia, the price will certainly need to be a strategy considered by PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM).
Looking at the current situation, Honda is offering significant price cuts for the CUV e: and EM1 e:. Both models are sold for upwards of Rp 40 million to attract consumers.
The government has yet to provide incentives for electric motorcycles in Indonesia. However, PT AHM is committed to continuing to offer environmentally friendly vehicle products to consumers.
“Of course we will continue to market electric motorcycles. Because this is indeed part of our commitment to provide and meet consumer demand,” said Ahmad Muhibbuddin, General Manager of Corporate Communication at PT AHM in Jakarta some time ago.
In the future, Honda would welcome it if the government decides to reinstate incentives for electric motorcycles.
The hope is that the price of Honda electric motorcycles can become more affordable and their population in the country can grow in a positive direction.
