KatadataOTO – VinFast has introduced several models in Indonesia such as the VF e34, VF 3, and VF 5. Using a battery rental scheme, it seems the Vietnamese manufacturer is only targeting fleet customers.

After a long period with no news about other models displayed at the IIMS (Indonesia International Motor Show) 2025, VinFast has finally launched the compact SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) VF 6 in the country without a ceremony.

This time, they are not using a battery rental scheme. There are also various promotions offered, such as cashback of up to IDR 20 million.

“By continuously expanding our range of electric vehicle products, we reaffirm our commitment to making electric vehicles accessible to everyone,” said Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, in his official statement, quoted on Tuesday (06/05).

This move is considered aggressive, given that VinFast's dealer network is still quite limited in the country. Meanwhile, the availability of official service centers is a major consideration for consumers before buying a car.

According to information from VinFast, there are 21 official showrooms spread across major cities such as Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Bali.

More recently, VinFast has partnered with the Amarta dealership to open 11 new outlets throughout 2025 and is targeting another 22 dealers by 2027.

“This commitment is also reflected in our comprehensive green mobility ecosystem, especially through VinFast's rapidly expanding charging network, ensuring all customers can easily access, own, and use electric vehicles,” he continued.
