KatadataOTO – The decision to provide electric motorcycle subsidies has not yet been announced by the government. Leaving several parties waiting.
One of them is Aismoli (Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Industry Association), they are said to be planning to ask for certainty on when the aforementioned assistance will be disbursed.
“I have just coordinated with several board members, perhaps in the near future we will go to the office of the Ministry of Industry to ask for some certainty on when it will be given and what the scheme will be so that we can also prepare,” said Budi Setiyadi, Chairman of Aismoli, to KatadataOTO on Monday (13/1).
Budi explained that they will take this step next week. It is hoped that the government can soon disburse the electric motorcycle subsidies for the public.
Considering that last year the assistance received a good response from automotive enthusiasts. The available quota was even completely absorbed.
“We hope there will still be a subsidy (now), but whatever the scheme might be, it should be announced soon. Don't leave it hanging like this,” continued Budi.
He also hopes the incentive from President Prabowo Subianto can be given quickly. So that the public can take advantage of it like in 2024.
Once it is running, the electric two-wheeler industry in the country will also grow. Because their sales can be maximized again.
“From what we have heard (about the form of the electric motorcycle subsidy), it will likely be a government-borne VAT (Value Added Tax) for this year,” he affirmed.
For your information, previously AISI (Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association) mentioned that this assistance would be given to the public in the country.
“We are waiting for the technical guidelines for the electric motorcycle subsidy. Reportedly, an incentive will be given, just like last year,” said Sigit Kumala, Head of the Commercial Division at AISI, when contacted by KatadataOTO.
However, Sigit does not yet know for sure the form of assistance that will be provided by President Prabowo for the purchase of electric two-wheelers.
Nevertheless, he considers the existence of electric motorcycle subsidies to be quite important. This is so that the offered price can be more affordable.
“The price of the battery is still expensive, so it certainly still needs a subsidy from the government. Otherwise, the selling price will be high,” he said.
Sigit also encourages electric two-wheeler manufacturers to increase their Local Content Level (TKDN), like conventional motorcycles.
This is expected to create job opportunities for the public. And also help small industries in the country.
