KatadataOTO – Unlike cars, the market for new motorcycles was quite stable in 2025. It even showed an increase last year.
This is inseparable from the efforts of manufacturers to stimulate the market. This includes contributions from Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM).
Various flagship products from this tuning fork logo manufacturer have successfully tempted the public to buy new two-wheeled vehicles.
“We can say that Yamaha's sales were indeed on target,” said Rifki Maulana, Manager of Public Relations, YRA & Community at YIMM to KatadataOTO in Pulogadung, East Jakarta (14/01).
Rifki also expressed his happiness and pride in Yamaha's achievements last year. It shows their efforts were quite successful.
They were able to meet the needs of motorcycle enthusiasts. However, he was reluctant to detail the total figures Yamaha achieved.
Nevertheless, Rifki explained that a number of their products are quite popular among the public in Indonesia.
“As for Yamaha's sales, the biggest contribution still comes from our premium segment, which is the Maxi category,” Rifki continued.
He explained that the automatic scooters in the Maxi line received a very positive reception in 2025. Many consumers were interested in owning one.
Rifki further mentioned that the Yamaha Nmax, both the Neo and Turbo variants, are the best-sellers in the domestic market.
This was followed by the Yamaha Aerox. Because this two-wheeled vehicle offers a very sporty design, it is also suitable for young people.
The next Maxi product with a significant contribution is the Yamaha Xmax, followed by the Lexi LX 155.
On the other hand, Yamaha's sales in Indonesia are also supported by the Classy segment. Consisting of the Grand Filano and Fazzio.
“So in each area, sometimes the Grand Filano is higher, sometimes the Fazzio is higher,” Rifki affirmed.
The Classy segment has undeniably become a new favorite for Yamaha consumers. Because it offers a retro design and look.
In addition, the Yamaha Fazzio and Grand Filano are quite easy to modify according to taste. So many young people are fond of them.
For your information, the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) reported that last year, wholesale sales of new motorcycles reached 6,412,769 units.
This figure is 1.2 percent higher than the achievement in 2024, which was 6,333,310 units.
