KatadataOTO – Yamaha recently enlivened the Electric Vehicle (EV) market by launching an electric Aerox.

However, the product is only marketed to consumers in India.

Even so, many parties have asked about the possibility of the electric Yamaha Aerox hitting the roads in Indonesia.

Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) has spoken out regarding the possible presence of their electric motorcycle in the country.

"The Aerox EV is indeed focused on India. Because you can see from the design that it's different from the (Aerox) sold here," said Rifki Maulana, Manager of Public Relations, YRA & Community at YIMM in Jakarta last week.

According to Rifki, the electric Yamaha Aerox in India uses the second-generation model as its base.

However, there are some changes to the product, such as in the powertrain where an electric motor is embedded.

Nevertheless, Yamaha stated that they are still reluctant to sell the electric Aerox in the country.

"Indeed, this Aerox EV is focused on being produced and sold in India. So far, there are no plans (to sell it in Indonesia)," Rifki affirmed.

As a reminder, the presence of the Yamaha Aerox E or electric is part of their commitment to providing sustainable mobility.

In terms of appearance, the electric Yamaha Aerox is very sporty. Many sharp lines are found on the body.

Then there is also a digital meter panel. It functions to display various information, from speed to electricity consumption.

On the left and right handlebars, there are a number of buttons to operate various features.
