KatadataOTO – The circulation of counterfeit oil is still often found in several regions in Indonesia. This can certainly be detrimental to many parties.

From lubricant manufacturers to people who accidentally use counterfeit oil in their vehicles.

This has prompted YIMM (Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing) to speak out. According to the Japanese manufacturer, they are not the only ones experiencing oil counterfeiting.

“When it comes to counterfeit oil or components, it's not just Yamaha that is being counterfeited. Almost all brands are also being counterfeited,” said Antonius Widiantoro, Asst. & Marketing Part Operation Division of YIMM (Yamaha Indonesia Motor Mfg) in Bandung, West Java a few days ago.

Anton explained that Yamaha cannot eradicate the circulation of non-genuine lubricants alone.

There must be cooperation among lubricant manufacturers. This can create a deterrent effect on the perpetrators.

“So, we must fight it together. Because the ones who are truly harmed are the consumers,” Anton continued.

Anton further explained that Yamaha has been proactive in pursuing the makers and distributors of counterfeit oil.

They are collaborating with several related parties, such as the police, in taking action.

“Enforcement actions have been taken, and if you look, some have even issued public apologies in the media,” Anton affirmed.

Widely Found in the Regions

On the other hand, Anton revealed that the circulation of counterfeit oil is not only in Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi).

But they have also found it on several islands outside of Java. For example, in Sumatra and Kalimantan.

Therefore, the producers and distributors of counterfeit oil must be dealt with immediately. So they no longer harm the general public.

“The impact is not short-term, but long-term. What needs to be replaced later will be more expensive than the price of the oil itself,” said Anton.

For your information, Yamaha has a number of lubricant products for various two-wheeled vehicles. For automatic motorcycles, there are Power Matic Motor Oil, Matic Motor Oil, Super Matic Oil, and Yamalube Turbo Matic.

Meanwhile, for sport bikes, there are 2T Motor Oil, Sport Motor Oil, Super Sport Oil, and RS4GP. Not to forget, there are also Silver Motor Oil, Gold Motor Oil, and Yamalube XP 50.
