KatadataOTO – Despite only having one model, Maka Motors is optimistic about the automotive market in the country. This is shown by the high sales target they have set for 2025.
This figure is certainly quite bold considering they only have one model, namely the Maka Cavalry, which was launched earlier today.
“We are targeting to sell at least 15,000 units by the end of the year,” said Raditya Wibowo, CEO of Maka Motors, on the sidelines of the launch (15/01).
That number is actually still far below the factory's capacity of 100,000 units per year. However, it will certainly take more time to optimize the factory.
“Meanwhile, regarding its TKDN, we have met the requirements to receive subsidies. That's all I can say for now,” he later said.
To achieve this sales target, Maka Motors will provide various purchasing conveniences, especially at the beginning of the launch. Thanks to this, it is hoped that the public can get their units more easily.
It was previously reported that the Maka Cavalry has officially launched in Indonesia. The electric motorcycle comes with a sporty look and resembles a conventional vehicle.
Its size is also quite large, with dimensions of 1,922 mm in length, 731 mm in width, and 1,173 mm in height. To be usable on various terrains, the manufacturer has given the Maka Cavalry a ground clearance of 140 cm.
However, its main attraction is the vehicle's range, which reaches 160 km. This figure is achievable thanks to the use of a 4 kWh capacity battery.
The manufacturer also provides two riding modes: Hi-Torque and Hi-Regen. Both have different characteristics and can be adjusted as needed.
Hi-Torque can be used when performance is needed, allowing the motorcycle to accelerate faster. Meanwhile, Hi-Regen offers efficiency by converting braking energy, which is wasted as heat, into electricity and then automatically recharging the battery.
Although it has a fairly long range, the power output can reach 12 hp and 242 Nm of torque. Its acceleration is also quite fast, as it can reach 60 km per hour in 4.8 seconds from a standstill, with a maximum speed of 105 km per hour.
The motorcycle can already be ordered for a price of Rp 38.85 million. The units themselves will be delivered in February 2024.
