Maka Motors urges the government to quickly announce the certainty of incentives so that the public does not delay purchases.

KatadataOTO – The lack of certainty regarding subsidies for electric motorcycles has apparently received serious attention from manufacturers. One of them is Maka Motors, which has just launched its first product, the Cavalry.
The local manufacturer revealed that ideally, the government should promptly announce what kind of incentives will be provided. This way, the public can be more confident in making a purchase.
“Whatever form it takes, we hope the government can announce it soon to provide certainty for consumers. So they don't hold off on purchasing in hopes of buying it cheaper if there's an incentive,” said Raditya Wibowo, CEO of Maka Motors.
He added that even if the government ends up not providing any incentives, he remains optimistic they can survive. This is because when Maka Motors was first established, electric motorcycle subsidies had not yet appeared.
“When we started, there were no announcements about subsidies, so we didn't plan for it from the beginning. But they have existed in recent years, which has accelerated public acceptance,” he added.
He is also confident that his product will be able to compete and survive in the domestic market.
“We are ready to compete with anyone, whether gasoline or electric, using the quality and price we have offered,” he then affirmed.
It was previously reported that Maka Motors officially launched their first product, the Cavalry. The electric motorcycle comes with a sporty design, meeting the expectations of motorcycle users in the country.
However, its main advantage is its range, which reaches 160 km thanks to the use of a 4 kWh capacity battery.
Not only that, they also introduced two riding modes: Hi-Torque and Hi-Regen.
In Hi-Torque mode, the rider can use it when performance is needed, allowing the motorcycle to accelerate faster. Meanwhile, Hi-Regen offers efficiency by converting braking energy, which is wasted as heat, into electricity and automatically recharging the battery.
Although it has a considerable range, the power output can reach 12 hp and 242 Nm of torque. Its acceleration is also quite fast, as it can reach 60 km per hour in 4.8 seconds from a standstill, with a maximum speed of 105 km per hour.
