KatadataOTO – Piaggio Indonesia has officially stopped the assembly of the Vespa LX 125 in the country. The decision was made after the launch of the LX i-Get 150 some time ago.
Until now, the Vespa LX 125 has been one of the backbones of sales. The discontinuation of its production has certainly caught the attention of its fans.
“The Vespa LX 125 is no longer produced in Indonesia because it has been replaced by the LX 150,” said Ayu Hapsari, PR & Communications Manager of PT Piaggio Indonesia.
However, she admitted that the Vespa LX 125 can still be found at several dealers in Indonesia. This is because there are still a few units left at some outlets.
“I don't know the exact number, but it is certainly limited based on the remaining units available at dealers,” she affirmed.
It was previously reported that the Vespa LX received an update with the installation of a 154.8 cc i-Get engine. The powertrain is capable of producing 12.3 hp at 7,750 rpm, while its peak torque reaches 12.4 Nm at 6,750 rpm.
This power is then channeled to the rear wheel through a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT).
In addition to developments in the engine sector, the scooter is also equipped with various modern features. These range from an LED headlight with a light-always-on feature to a combined analog and digital instrument panel.
To make its appearance more attractive, Piaggio Indonesia has also added several new colors, ranging from Lilac Euforico, Green Amabile, Red Scarlatto to White Innocente.
All color options are paired with gray handle grips and a seat. There are also white accents on the front tie and rims.
Meanwhile, regarding its dimensions, the Vespa LX i-Get 150 cc has a width of 705 mm, a length of 1,770 mm, and a height of 785 mm. The wheelbase is 1,280 mm.
The Vespa LX i-Get 150 cc is priced at IDR 46.5 million, slightly more expensive than the previous model which was sold for IDR 45.3 million. The manufacturer has also collaborated with several financing companies to make it easier for customers to make a purchase.
