Renowned for its Durability, Yamaha Underbone Motorcycle Demand Remains High in South Sulawesi

KatadataOTO – Demand for underbone motorcycles from Yamaha in South Sulawesi and West Sulawesi is claimed to be still quite high. This is despite the fact that the model choices for this segment are rather limited.

The high demand is due to the road conditions in both provinces, which are still dominated by mountainous terrain. Underbone motorcycles are considered to have the toughness needed by the people there.

“The market is still quite large, especially in the suburban areas. Sales are about 10 percent of the total market in South and West Sulawesi,” said Frengky J Tunandar, GM Marketing of PT. Suracojaya Abadimotor to the media some time ago.

He also revealed that the enthusiasts for underbone motorcycles in Sulawesi are very diverse. Even the younger generation is still widely seeking these units.

It should be noted that Yamaha Indonesia currently has three underbone motorcycles. They are the MX King 150, Jupiter Z1, and Vega Force.

The Yamaha MX 150 is equipped with a 149.7 cc capacity engine. Its powertrain can produce 15.1 hp of power and 13.8 Nm of torque.

Various features have been embedded in the motorcycle, such as an LED headlight, hazard lamp, and a full digital speedometer. The motorcycle is also fitted with tubeless tires to give riders peace of mind.

Next is the Yamaha Jupiter Z1. This motorcycle is equipped with a 100 cc SOHC engine capable of producing 9.9 hp of power and 9.8 Nm of torque.

The dual headlamp resembling an owl remains its hallmark. To make it sportier, the manufacturer has fitted it with attractively designed wheels.

The third model is the Vega Force. This motorcycle comes in two color combination options: black-yellow and black-red.

The motorcycle is equipped with a 100 cc capacity engine. The mechanical heart can produce 8.5 hp of power and 9.53 Nm of torque.

Although it is Yamaha's cheapest underbone motorcycle with the lowest price, the Vega Force still has several interesting advantages. Starting from an attractive speedometer design, the availability of a security lock, to a 9.2-liter luggage compartment.
