KatadataOTO – Unpleasant news comes from Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS). They have just discontinued the sale of the Suzuki Avenis 125.

This was discovered on their official website. This automatic scooter is no longer displayed alongside the Suzuki Nex, Address, and Burgman Street.

Suzuki Avenis 125 has disappeared from the product list and can no longer be purchased by consumers in the country.

The Japanese manufacturer has spoken out to provide an explanation regarding the discontinuation of the Suzuki Avenis 125.

“This motorcycle is a completely built-up (CBU) unit from India, so its production is still ongoing. However, Suzuki Indonesia has stopped importing the model,” said Teuku Agha Alravy, 2W Sales & Marketing Department Head of SIS, to KatadataOTO on Wednesday (04/06).

Furthermore, he explained that there are several reasons behind the decision, one of which is that the sales of the Suzuki Avenis 125 were far below expectations.

Therefore, they have chosen to focus on selling motorcycles that are more in demand by domestic consumers.

“I forget the exact number (for Avenis sales), but it was far below the Suzuki Burgman Street,” Agha continued.

To give an idea, Agha mentioned that sales of the Suzuki Burgman Street reach 300 to 400 units per month.

Meanwhile, the Avenis 125 only sold in the tens of units. Therefore, Suzuki decided to stop the import process for the product.

As a reminder, the Suzuki Avenis 125 was officially launched in the country in 2022. At that time, the automatic scooter was unveiled at the Indonesia International Motorcycle Show (IMOS).

Regarding the specifications of the Suzuki Avenis 125, this two-wheeled vehicle has dimensions of 1,895 mm in length, 710 mm in width, and 1,175 mm in height.

Its wheelbase is 1,265 mm. The ground clearance is 160 mm and the seat height is 780 mm.

In terms of appearance, the Suzuki Avenis 125 features a sporty design. This is evident from the sharp lines that run across its entire body.

As for the engine, this motorcycle is equipped with a 125 cc, SOHC, air-cooled engine featuring Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology.

On paper, the mechanical heart is claimed to be able to produce up to 8.6 hp at 6,750 rpm and a peak torque of 10 Nm at 5,500 rpm
