KatadataOTO – A number of regions will collect a surcharge on Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) and Vehicle Title Transfer Fees (BBNKB) starting in early 2025. This includes the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Bali.
However, the government on the Island of the Gods has implemented a policy of providing relaxation for vehicle taxes.
Therefore, the price of new motorcycles in Bali will not increase due to the implementation of the BBNKB surcharge and PKB in early 2025.
This is intended to encourage the public to continue buying new two-wheeled vehicles for various activities.
“There has been no impact from the implementation of the surcharge,” said Hendra Wijaya, Chief of DDS Bali, in Denpasar on Sunday (15/06).
According to Hendra, the surcharge relaxation provided by the Bali Provincial Government has been very helpful for them in selling two-wheeled vehicles.
Thus, the implementation of the surcharge there has not had a negative impact on Yamaha motorcycle sales on the Island of the Gods.
“There is still a relaxation in place, and it has not been 100 percent implemented,” Hendra continued.
Hendra also revealed that Yamaha has not prepared any anticipatory measures in case the Bali Provincial Government decides to eliminate the relaxation.
Considering their sales there are still very good. Therefore, the manufacturer with the tuning fork logo is confident it can attract many buyers.
“So far, we still see the market as quite good in Bali. We are just focusing on the market for now,” Hendra affirmed.
As a reminder, Bali is one of the regions providing discounts on PKB and BBNKB to reduce the burden on the public.
This policy is stipulated in Bali Governor Regulation Number 30 of 2024 concerning the Provision of Relief and/or Reduction of the Principal Motor Vehicle Tax and Vehicle Title Transfer Fees.
“This discount also responds to public concerns regarding the implementation of the tax surcharge that will begin in 2025,” said I Wayan Budiasa, Acting Head of the Bali Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), as quoted by Antara.
He explained that in Article 2 of Bali Governor Regulation Number 30 of 2024, it is stated that the tax discount provided is a reduction of the principal PKB for motor vehicles up to 200 cc by 14.35 percent.
The Bali Provincial Government also provides a reduction of the principal PKB for motor vehicles above 200 cc by 12.15 percent.
Additionally, there is a reduction of the principal PKB for ambulances, fire trucks, social-religious vehicles, social and religious institutions, and central or local government vehicles by 39.76 percent. Meanwhile, the principal BBNKB payment is discounted by 24 percent.
