KatadataOTO – Several regional governments have provided a number of reliefs in implementing the surcharge for PKB (Motor Vehicle Tax) and BBNKB (Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fee).

One of them was introduced by the Central Java (Jawa Tengah) regional government. However, the policy is only temporary.

This has made Yamaha await how the BBNKB surcharge and PKB will be implemented next after it ends.

“In Central Java, it's until March 31, after that we will wait to see whether the government's policy on the surcharge will change in April or not,” said Bill Prasetyo Gunawan, Chief of DDS III Central Java-DIY at PT YIMM (Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing) in Yogyakarta, Saturday (22/02).

Furthermore, Bill said that his party has prepared a number of steps if the implementation of the PKB surcharge and BBNKB is changed.

One of them is by adjusting the prices of the Yamaha Aerox, Nmax, Lexi, and others.

“Once the government does implement the surcharge, there will be a change from the tax side, and we will just make adjustments,” Bill continued.

Nevertheless, he revealed that the temporary relaxation of the PKB and BBNKB surcharge has had an impact on them.

It even affects Yamaha motorcycle sales in Central Java. Because the public is also waiting to see whether the relaxation will be continued or not.

“They are waiting to see if the price will change or not after March,” he said.

Based on the facts above, Bill hopes the Central Java government will provide relief again after the BBNKB and PKB surcharge relaxation ends in March 2025.
