KatadataOTO – The National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) has recorded an increase in traffic flow during the 2025 Eid homecoming. Especially on D-5 or Thursday (27/03).

According to their data, nearly one million four-wheeled vehicles have left Jakarta through four main toll gates.

"Based on data received from Jasa Marga, the cumulative traffic volume leaving Jakarta from D-10 to D-5 of Eid al-Fitr 2025 reached 955,923 vehicles," said Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, Head of the National Police Traffic Corps, on the official National Police Public Relations website, Friday (28/03).

Agus further stated that there was a traffic surge of up to 13 percent compared to normal conditions.

From the numbers above, there are four toll gates that people passed through during the 2025 Eid homecoming.

These are the Cikupa (to Merak), Ciawi (to Puncak), Cikampek Utama (to Trans-Java), and Kalihurip (to Bandung) Toll Gates (GT).

Meanwhile, the route to Trans-Java via the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate experienced the highest surge, reaching 72.1 percent compared to normal traffic.

With this surge, congestion on the main toll roads is increasingly felt, especially on the routes to Trans-Java and Bandung.

Observing these conditions, the National Police Traffic Corps has implemented various traffic engineering schemes. This is to break down vehicle buildup.

"Because the increase in traffic flow is quite high, the radar parameters at KM 71 have warranted the implementation of a one-way system," said Agus.

The Head of the Traffic Corps confirmed that a contraflow system had been implemented since yesterday morning. However, because the traffic was still heavy, they took an additional step, which is a one-way system from KM 70 to KM 188.

Finally, Agus predicts that the peak of the 2025 Eid homecoming traffic will occur today or from D-3 to D-2 of Eid 2025.

Therefore, the public is advised to make use of the information on the applicable traffic engineering schemes.

  • To Merak (Cikupa Toll Gate): 284,373 vehicles
  • To Bandung (Kalihurip Utama Toll Gate): 186,768 vehicles
