KatadataOTO – The peak of the 2025 Eid return traffic is predicted to occur from Saturday (05/04) to Monday (07/04). Several traffic engineering systems will be implemented to help ease traffic congestion.

In addition, toll road operators are also implementing rules to anticipate traffic congestion. One of these is by limiting rest time at rest areas.

Considering that the capacity of rest areas on several toll road sections is limited. Therefore, if vehicles stop for too long, it can cause long queues.

“We urge road users to use rest areas as needed, with a maximum rest time of 30 minutes,” said Ardam Rafif Trisilo, Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Dept. Head of Astra Tol Cipali, as quoted from Antara on Sunday (06/04).

If travelers still need more rest time, they can use rest stops or gas stations located outside the nearest toll gate.

A similar rule is enforced by PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol. The 30-minute time limit is implemented to avoid vehicle buildup and resulting congestion on the toll road sections.

He revealed that there has been an increase in the volume of passing vehicles compared to the traffic on the previous day.

According to Ardam, as of Saturday (05/04), traffic on the Cipali Toll Road from Cirebon to Jakarta was smooth with the one-way scheme in effect.

The total number of passing vehicles was around 90.8 thousand, an increase of 51 percent compared to the traffic on Friday (04/04), which averaged 5 thousand vehicles per hour.

Meanwhile, from March 31 to April 4, 2025, an increase in vehicle flow has also been observed at the four main toll gates (GT). The increase reached 71.5 percent compared to normal traffic.

Therefore, the public is advised to manage their travel time and return to Jabotabek before the predicted peak of the return traffic, which is expected to occur tomorrow, Monday (07/04).

For those traveling back to Jakarta on Tuesday (08/04), they can take advantage of a 20 percent toll discount on the Trans Java Toll Road from 05:00 AM WIB until Thursday (10/04) at 05:00 AM WIB.

To anticipate congestion at every toll gate, be sure to calculate the accumulated toll fare and top up your electronic card balance as needed.
