Bahlil to Take Firm Action on Alleged Water-Contaminated Fuel in Klaten

KatadataOTO – The case of fuel mixed with water has happened again. This time it occurred at a gas station in Wonosari Village, Trucuk District, Klaten, Central Java.

The incident has caused losses for many motorists. Because people's cars and motorcycles broke down after filling up with Pertalite there.

The government is not staying silent after hearing about the case. The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) will investigate this incident.

“I just found out, I will check and call Lemigas to investigate,” said Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of ESDM, as quoted by Antara on Wednesday (09/04).

Bahlil stated he would take firm action against the Pertamina gas station with code 44.574.29 if the case of fuel mixed with water is proven true.

“The government will take firm action in accordance with applicable regulations,” Bahlil continued.

For your information, the police have already conducted an investigation into the case of fuel mixed with water at a gas station in Klaten, Central Java.

The gas station is now temporarily closed as a follow-up to public reports regarding the current case.

“We checked at the filling station, the nozzle was mixed with another substance besides Pertalite fuel,” said Iptu Taufik Mustofa, Head of the Klaten Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

Taufik also found a number of vehicles had broken down after refueling at this particular gas station, so they had to be taken to a workshop for further handling.

“To protect consumers and the public, we are sterilizing the station to prevent the sale of the contaminated fuel stock,” Taufik continued.

They are also currently conducting a further investigation into the case of fuel mixed with water in Klaten, Central Java.

Then, the video showed Pertalite fuel placed in a container or bottle, and it appeared to be mixed with water.

“At the Trucuk gas station, many have broken down, and this is just filled with water,” said the account owner.

According to reports, Pertamina has conducted an investigation in collaboration with the Klaten Police to find out the cause of the incident.
