KatadataOTO – Today, Car Free Day in Jakarta is not only held at one point, Sudirman-Thamrin, but is starting to expand to other areas. The many options are expected to give the public a variety of choices for weekend exercise.

One of the roads closed for Car Free Day today (13/07) is Jalan Sultan Iskandar Muda (Arteri Pondok Indah). Therefore, vehicles are prohibited from passing from the Kostrad Intersection to the Bungur Intersection from 6 to 10 AM.

Reported from @infocarfreeday_, the public can also enjoy various activities that have been prepared. These range from gymnastics, coloring contests, toy car races, a flying fox, a mobile library, population services, One-Stop Integrated Services (PTSP), to health and blood type checks.

The many programs provided are expected to attract the public to come to Car Free Day in Pondok Indah.

Additionally, Car Free Day will be held in the West Jakarta area, specifically on Jalan Puri Elok. Road closures will also be implemented to ensure the event can proceed comfortably.

The new locations for Car Free Day are expected to have a positive impact on the community, from increasing happiness to raising public awareness about exercising.

Not only that, the concentration of crowds at Car Free Day on Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin could potentially be dispersed. This will allow people exercising to be more comfortable than before.

However, residents who usually travel on Sundays and pass through these locations will have to adjust their travel schedules. It is even possible they will need to find alternative routes to reach their destinations on time.

This is because significant traffic congestion is expected, especially in the Pondok Indah area. This is because the area is quite busy, which will have a widespread impact on the public.

Therefore, a number of officers will certainly be deployed to guard several critical points and manage traffic. It is hoped that severe traffic jams can be avoided and will not hinder residents' activities.
