Checking Puncak Bogor Traffic Management during the 2025 Eid al-Fitr Homecoming

KatadataOTO – There are several traffic engineering schemes implemented in a number of areas during the 2025 Eid homecoming. This is done to help ease traffic congestion during the holiday.

No exception in Puncak Bogor. The location is one of the favorite tourist destinations for people from various regions, including Jakarta.

Considering its access is quite easy and not too far from the city center. However, the available road capacity cannot accommodate the surge in vehicles.

Every weekend, the Puncak Bogor odd-even policy is implemented. Private vehicle owners who violate can be directed to turn back and are not allowed to pass through the related area.

After the weekend, there are still plans to implement traffic engineering in Puncak Bogor as announced by the Bogor Police.

It is known that the Puncak Bogor traffic engineering will later be in the form of a one way system downwards or from Puncak towards Jakarta, during the 2025 Eid homecoming and return flows with the following provisions.

• The one-way down system will be implemented if the volume ratio of the two directions is a minimum of 20 percent for the upstream flow and 80 percent for the downstream flow.
• Vehicles from the downward direction (Jakarta) heading upwards (Puncak) will be blocked around Post 1B and the Patung Ayam Gas Station, and traffic will be cleared from the bottom up. Subsequently, the one-way down system (Puncak-Jakarta) will be implemented.

“Regarding the implementation schedule, it is situational, depending on the traffic flow situation on the ground,” wrote the official statement on the @satlantaspolresbogor.tmc account, quoted Monday (01/04).

For your information, the Ketupat Lodaya 2025 Operation is also being held at several points in the Bogor City area to help secure the homecoming and return flows during the Eid holiday.

The places included in the Ketupat Lodaya 2025 Operation security list include shopping centers, tourist locations, and arterial roads.

Based on police monitoring, congestion had already started to occur on Monday (31/03) afternoon.

“The traffic congestion that occurred on the first day of Eid was due to a surge in vehicle volume and the disorderly conduct of drivers who took over and blocked the opposite lane,” read the statement from the official @satlantas_polrestabogorkota account.
