Christmas and New Year Toll Discounts Announced, Valid for 3 Days

KatadataOTO – The government has set toll rate discounts for Christmas and New Year 2026. This program is provided to support the smooth mobility of the public during the Christmas and New Year 2026 holidays.

Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, revealed that the rate discount program will reach 10 to 20 percent. It will be implemented for three days, namely on December 22, 23, and 31, 2025.

The rate discounts apply to 26 toll road sections, which include 2 toll sections in Jabodetabek, 9 Trans-Java toll sections, 3 Non-Java toll sections, and 12 Trans-Sumatra toll sections. Thus, it is hoped that the public can adjust their travel times.

“The Ministry of Public Works has prepared toll rate discounts for three days, namely December 22, 23, and 31, on 26 toll road sections,” he said.

It was previously reported that the government has indeed used toll rate discounts as a way to reduce traffic congestion. This is because ahead of the year-end holidays, many people go on vacation.

This situation causes the number of vehicles to exceed road capacity, leading to congestion. Therefore, it is hoped that the toll rate discounts can help distribute traffic flow more evenly.

As a reminder, the Minister of Public Works along with the Toll Road Authority (BUJT) provided a 10 percent toll rate discount in 2024. At that time, the toll rate discount for the Trans-Java Toll cluster was valid for Jakarta - Cikampek, Cikampek - Palimanan, Palimanan - Kanci, Kanci - Pejagan, Pejagan - Pemalang, Pemalang - Batang, Batang - Semarang up to Semarang Section ABC.

The discount for the return trip applied to the opposite sections, namely from the Semarang ABC toll road to the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll road, or from the Kalikangkung Toll Gate to Cikampek Utama.

For the Trans-Sumatra corridor, a 10 percent toll rate discount for all vehicle classes during the exodus flow was applied to the Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung section (Bakauheni Selatan Toll Gate-Kayu Agung Utama Toll Gate), the Kayu Agung-Palembang section (Kayu Agung Utama-Kramasan), and the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll section.
