KatadataOTO – The infrastructure damage that occurred after the riots at the end of August 2025 is considered very large. The DKI Jakarta government revealed that the damage to bus stops, pedestrian bridges, and several other facilities reached Rp 80 billion.
That amount soared from the previous estimate of Rp 55 billion. The change occurred because the DKI Jakarta government had not yet included the losses from the damage to the Transjakarta bus stops in Senen and at Polda Metro Jaya.
“If we include the two pedestrian bridges in Senen and at Polda Metro Jaya, it now becomes Rp 80 billion,” said Pramono Anung Wibowo, Governor of DKI Jakarta, as reported by Antara (03/09).
The magnitude of these losses is certainly very unfortunate because the funds could have been used for development in various sectors.
Besides the damage to bus stops and pedestrian bridges, Pramono also mentioned several other damages that need to be addressed. One of them is CCTV and 18 traffic lights in several locations.
For the repair of this infrastructure, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is coordinating with the Ministry of Public Works (PU).
"I also asked for assistance from the Ministry of Public Works for the pedestrian bridges in Senen and at Polda Metro Jaya to be helped by the central government. We have discussed it and he immediately responded," said Pramono.
Pramono detailed that the budget allocation for the revitalization of the pedestrian bridges, which will be equipped with elevators and be disability-friendly, reaches Rp 19 billion.
Although the losses are quite large, Dody Hanggodo, the Minister of Public Works (PU), revealed that the central government will cover the repairs of the pedestrian bridges and Transjakarta bus stops in Senen and at Polda Metro Jaya.
“We will work on the repairs for these two facilities quickly. The hope is that they can be functional in less than seven days,” said Dody.
Dody said the repair costs for the pedestrian bridges and Transjakarta bus stops in Senen and at Polda Metro Jaya will use the Public Works budget that has been prepared for emergencies.
“We have budgeted Rp 900 billion for all of Indonesia, not just for Jakarta,” said Dody.
