KatadataOTO – The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government plans to build a flyover on Latumeten street. The location is quite strategic as it is next to Grogol Station.

Once completed, it is hoped that the traffic congestion that has been occurring can be resolved or at least improved. This is because people will no longer have to wait for traffic lights, so the flow of vehicles will be faster than before.

Construction is planned to start in August, and the work process will close access for public transportation such as Transjakarta, JakLingko, and the commuter line train (KRL). However, private vehicles like motorcycles and cars are claimed to still be able to pass through.

To avoid congestion during the construction process, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency will implement traffic engineering. However, the routes have not yet been determined.

"We will hold a meeting to discuss the traffic engineering preparations related to the planned flyover construction on Latumenten street," said Edy Sufaat, Acting Head of the West Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency, as reported by Antara (18/07).

According to him, the discussion on traffic engineering must involve a number of relevant Regional Work Units (SKPD) and Regional Work Unit Units (UKPD).

"The discussion regarding traffic management and engineering will be held soon. We will inform you of the results later," he said.

Meanwhile, Darwin Ali, Head of the West Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency, revealed that he is still waiting for leadership's policy regarding the socialization of the flyover construction plan on Latumenten street.

"We are still waiting for direction from the leadership. It is currently in the bidding process and will be discussed further at the DKI Jakarta Bina Marga Agency," said Darwin.

It should be noted that the DKI Provincial Government of Jakarta will build a flyover on Latumenten street, Grogol, West Jakarta. The flyover will have a length of 380 meters.

The presence of the flyover in the area is believed to be able to overcome the frequent congestion. Therefore, it is not impossible that traffic will become smoother in the future.
