KatadataOTO – Traffic congestion is occurring on several roads in the city of Bekasi. This is due to flooding that has been ongoing since early Tuesday (04/03) morning.

Traffic build-up is also visible in several locations, on both the arterial roads of Bekasi City and the Japek (Jakarta-Cikampek) Toll Road.

“16:14 WIB Japek Toll Road West Bekasi Km 12 to the West Bekasi Km 13 exit is congested due to floodwater management,” wrote the X account @PTJasamarga.

Then, traffic jams also occurred around Bekasi Station. There was also standing water that made it impossible for cars and motorcycles to pass.

The next flood point is on Jalan Ahmad Yani in Bekasi City up to Jalan KH Agus Salim. This has the potential to cause long traffic jams in the afternoon, especially as many people are returning from work.

On the other hand, the Bekasi City BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency) has mapped 20 flood points spread across seven sub-districts.

Each has varying water levels, ranging from 20 cm to three meters, causing thousands of residents to be forced to evacuate.

“In Medan Satria Sub-district, it flooded residential areas in RT 1, 8, and RW 03 of Kali Baru Village to a height of 100 cm,” said Priadi Santoso, Chief Executive of the Bekasi City BPBD, to Antara.

Meanwhile, the worst of the Bekasi floods hit Jatiasih. The water reached a height of 120 cm in the Bumi Nasio Indah complex.

Then 150 cm in the Jatiluhur, Buana, and Graha Indah housing estates. Meanwhile, the Pondok Gede Permai housing estate and Villa Jatirasa were over three meters.

Motorists are advised to avoid these areas, as traffic jams are occurring nearby.

Many residents have parked their vehicles in higher areas to avoid the Bekasi floods. Additionally, officers are still evacuating local residents to safer locations.

For motorists in Bekasi City who plan to travel and wish to avoid getting stuck in floods or traffic jams, several facilities from the local government can be utilized.
