KatadataOTO – The Bekasi flood has had an extraordinary impact on the community. Many motor vehicles were affected by the disaster.

For this reason, Federal Oil held a flood care program. The goal is to help the owners of motor vehicles who were victims.

“This is a form of our care and empathy for the Bekasi flood disaster. We are trying to present a free oil program to the affected community,” said Rommy Averdy Saat, Market Development General Manager of PT EMLI (ExxonMobil Lubricants Indonesia) in a press release (12/03).

He further said that he hopes motorcycle owners can resume their activities, thus easing the burden of the flood victims from some time ago.

It was mentioned that hundreds of motorcycles have participated in the program titled "Comfortable Again with Federal Oil," on March 7 – 10, 2025.

The network of workshops in Bekasi involved includes Donna Motor, Lavanna Motor, Pulo Sirih Olimart, Citra Djaya Motor, and Sumber Mulia.

Changing the oil after a motor vehicle has been submerged in a flood is an important step that must be taken. This can minimize the potential for severe engine damage.

It is also to ensure that no water is mixed in the engine compartment. Therefore, a check and lubricant change are necessary.

For automatic motorcycles, checking the transmission oil or gear oil is also important. Because if it mixes with water, it can cause serious problems.

As is known, in early March, the city and regency of Bekasi experienced a severe flood disaster. Several areas were submerged in water up to several meters deep.

High rainfall and water sent from Bogor are claimed to be the cause of the flooding in Bekasi.

A total of 122,553 residents were victims of the Bekasi flood, with 25,065 people displaced due to the high floodwaters that hit their homes.
