KatadataOTO – Shell gas stations in Indonesia are once again experiencing fuel shortages in various locations.

According to several Shell employees, this has been happening since late August.

At a number of Shell gas stations, only one type of fuel is available: V-Power Diesel. Meanwhile, Super, V-Power, and V-Power Nitro+ are not being offered.

“It's been a week (empty). At most, if there's any, it's just the leftovers,” said a Shell employee when met by KatadataOTO in Cawang, Jakarta, recently.

He admitted to not receiving further information from Shell regarding the delivery of stock other than V-Power Diesel.

Even though Super and V-Power are said to have many users. Several times, some consumers were seen entering the gas station area and asking about the availability of those products.

Several branches in other areas like Bekasi also do not have stock of Shell Super to V-Power Nitro+.

Based on KatadataOTO's search, there is still one gas station, Shell Wibawa Mukti-1, that provides a complete range of products.

When confirmed, a Shell representative acknowledged that the three types of fuel are indeed unavailable for an indefinite period.

However, Shell V-Power Diesel and other services such as Shell Select, Shell Recharge, workshops, and lubricants can still be obtained at the nearest gas station.

“We are continuously coordinating with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) of the Republic of Indonesia to ensure the availability of fuel products in the Shell gas station network,” said Ingrid Siburian, President Director and Managing Director of Mobility Shell Indonesia, in a statement received by KatadataOTO on Tuesday (02/09).

This is not the first time; a Shell fuel shortage occurred in early 2025 for several weeks.

However, the situation gradually improved in early February 2025. Shell Super, V-Power, and V-Power Nitro+ were gradually resupplied to various locations.
