Bahlil explained that the data collection for government fuel subsidy recipients is 98 percent complete.

KatadataOTO – The government seems to be getting more serious about limiting recipients of fuel subsidies (Fuel Oil). This is to ensure it is utilized by eligible groups.
The Ministry of ESDM (Energy and Mineral Resources) has also stated it is continuously updating data regarding who receives government assistance.
“Yes, it's about 98 percent, now all the data is collected through a single gateway via BPS (Central Statistics Agency),” said Bahlil Lahadalia as quoted by Antara, Wednesday (8/1).
Bahlil also explained that all data on subsidy recipients for fuel is obtained from various sources. Such as from the Ministry of Social Affairs, PLN, Pertamina, and other stakeholders.
His party is collecting and unifying this data through BPS. Therefore, this step will be completed soon.
“There have been three changes, it's almost (finished), just a little more to go,” continued one of President Prabowo Subianto's ministers.
For your information, unifying data from various stakeholders aims to prevent overlaps. This way, the subsidies provided can be better targeted.
Once the government has completed the data collection, the Ministry of ESDM will soon announce the scheme and the recipients of the fuel subsidies.
Regarding the form of assistance and its distribution, Bahlil stated it would not be too different from what he had previously mentioned.
Indeed, in mid-December 2024, he had mentioned that the study on the new scheme for distributing government assistance was complete.
There are three methods prepared by Bahlil, such as converting all fuel subsidies into BLT (Direct Cash Assistance).
The second is to maintain fuel subsidies in the form of goods for use by all transportation and public facilities.
This is done to curb the rate of inflation, while the majority of assistance for the public will be converted into BLT.
As for the third or final alternative, the government plans to increase the price of subsidized fuels like Pertalite and Bio Solar.
As a reminder, the price of the subsidized fuel Pertalite is still at Rp 10,000 per liter. Then, Bio Solar is sold at Rp 6,800 per liter in the Jabodetabek area (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi).
Indeed, the government was previously asked by various parties to accurately identify which citizens are entitled to receive assistance.
Additionally, the criteria for users of affordable fuel must be clear. This is to prevent misuse by certain parties.
