KatadataOTO – Traffic congestion often haunts the residents of Bekasi, West Java. Vehicle build-up frequently occurs during rush hours.
For example, when people are commuting to and from offices or schools on weekdays.
The congestion is also worsened by the presence of large vehicles, further obstructing the flow of traffic.
Based on this issue, Jasa Marga, through Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad (JMT), has created a new regulation.
They plan to restrict large-dimension vehicles starting Thursday (10/07).
"Trial for the restriction of large-dimension vehicles (over five tons). Prohibited from exiting at the Jatiasih Toll exit on the JORR E Toll Road," read the announcement on the @official.jmmetropolitan Instagram account on Tuesday (08/07).
Jasa Marga also stated that it has collaborated with several parties to implement this new policy.
Such as the police, to ensure the smooth implementation of the policy on the ground.
"This coordination is being carried out considering the limited maneuvering space for large vehicles at the Jatiasih Toll Gate exit, both from the Cikunir and TMII directions," they continued.
Furthermore, Jasa Marga said that they have prepared several sanctions for drivers who insist on violating the rule.
Such as being charged double the toll fee upon re-entering the toll road.
Therefore, Jasa Marga urges drivers of large vehicles to comply with this prohibition.
One way is by paying attention to the exit prohibition schedule for large vehicles at the Jatiasih Toll, which Jasa Marga has created.
"Also, consider other alternative routes," said Jasa Marga.
On the other hand, the implementation of this restriction is expected to reduce congestion around the Komsen Intersection, Jatiasih, Bekasi, West Java.
Because this location often experiences long traffic jams in the morning and evening.
Then, the build-up of cars and motorcycles often snakes along on weekends. Therefore, they want to limit the movement of large vehicles.
"Source: Letter from the Head of the Bekasi City Transportation Agency Number: 500.11.6/218/DISHUB.Teklakin Dated July 1, 2025," Jasa Marga added.
For your information, the restriction for large vehicles passing through the Jatiasih Toll gate will be in effect for the next thirty days.
