KatadataOTO – The Metro Jaya Regional Police revealed a decrease in the number of traffic violations during Operation Zebra 2025. During the operation from November 17 - 30, 2025, at least 220,427 incidents were acted upon.

This number is claimed to be lower than in Operation Zebra 2024. At that time, the Metro Jaya Regional Police recorded 262,664 violations.

“Data on violation enforcement in 2025 shows 220,427 violations. This figure is down 16 percent or 42,237 compared to 2024, which reached 262,664 violations,” said Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, Head of the National Police Traffic Corps.

However, the number of violations recorded by ETLE increased by 16 percent compared to 2024. A total of 41,051 incidents were successfully recorded.

"Then, manual ticketing was recorded at 69,488 tickets, a decrease of 65 percent compared to 196,389 in 2024," he said.

Furthermore, there were 150,939 sympathetic warnings recorded. This record is up 128 percent compared to 66,275 warnings in 2024.

In addition to enforcement, said Agus, his party has also held pre-emptive activities or 'Polantas Menyapa' (Traffic Police Greet) by conducting counseling and disseminating information.

“Information dissemination activities, both to the media and in accident-prone areas, in 2025 amounted to 3,648,540 activities, an increase of 212 percent compared to 2024 which reached 1,170,786 activities,” he said.

Operation Zebra 2025 is indeed an annual activity that often attracts attention. The Metro Jaya Regional Police even involved 2,939 personnel during the approximately 14-day implementation.

This operation is carried out as a police effort to improve public discipline. So that during the 2026 Christmas and New Year operations, it is hoped that the risk of congestion and traffic accidents will decrease.

This is important because during that period, there is usually a significant increase in traffic flow.
