KatadataOTO – KH. Noer Alie Street in Kalimalang has subsided along a 4-meter stretch, making it difficult for people to pass through the area. Small cracks are also quite widespread around the location.

To prevent accidents, officers have placed barriers around the location. As a result, traffic congestion is unavoidable as this is a main route for people traveling to Jakarta.

The flow of vehicles is quite congested even with officers on duty directing traffic. As of this writing, the cause of the road damage in the Bekasi area is still unknown.

However, excavation for a water channel is underway around the road.

Although no action has been taken by officials yet, it is hoped that repairs can be carried out soon because the location is very vital.

Moreover, Dedi Mulyadi, the Governor of West Java, had previously expressed his desire to improve the condition of infrastructure, especially roads, in the region he leads.

This is important because the roads in West Java have quite varied conditions.

He even committed that the Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) in West Java will be used entirely for the construction and repair of roads. Especially since Bekasi is the region with the largest PKB contribution.

In the 2025 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) projection, the PKB in West Java is estimated to reach Rp 6.3 trillion. Of this amount, 3.8 trillion is from the annual PKB, while the rest is from the Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fee.

Of that amount, Bekasi City is the highest contributor with Rp 862 billion, followed by the city of Bandung with Rp 887 billion and Bekasi Regency with Rp 701 billion. If these tax revenues were fully returned for infrastructure repair, the condition of the roads should improve.

“The funds must be used to repair roads, so there is no longer any reason for the region to allow the damage,” he asserted some time ago through his YouTube account.

In fact, according to him, with the large amount of PKB received, provincial roads should be repairable in a short time. This would maintain public mobility and improve the community's economy.
