Kalista is ready to help Transjakarta achieve its target of 10,000 electrified fleet units by 2030.
KatadataOTO – Kalista, one of the Fleet as a Service (FaaS) companies in Indonesia, is ready to increase the supply of its electric bus fleet for Transjakarta.
It should be noted that there are currently 500 electric bus units operating as part of the Transjakarta fleet. A total of 26 of these units are supplied by Kalista.
Throughout 2025, Kalista revealed that the use of electric buses for public transportation is said to have a positive impact and has proven to remain cost-efficient.
“If we talk about cost, the rupiah per kilometer they pay for electric buses is already the same or slightly better,” said Yoga Adiwinarto, Business Development Director of Kalista in Jakarta recently.
Yoga revealed that Transjakarta itself has a target to use at least 10,000 units of electrified vehicles as its fleet. This includes not only electric buses but also Mikro Trans.
Of the total 10,000 units, 4,000 are electric buses. Kalista is committed to contributing to this.
“The target is 25 percent (of the 4,000 electric bus units) by 2030,” said Albert Aulia Ilyas, President Director of Kalista on the same occasion.
To achieve this target, Albert said several preparations are being made. Such as providing a competent team to support the operational needs of Transjakarta's electric buses from Kalista.
“Then we continue to try to collaborate with stakeholders. Whether it's the Brand Holder Agents (APM), charger (providers), or the operators,” said Albert.
In addition, Kalista is also always open to providing trials or test drives for all parties interested in switching to electrification.
This allows them to directly experience the advantages of the electric vehicles supplied by Kalista and the available operational services.
In the future, Albert believes the adoption of electrified vehicles as public transportation, especially for Transjakarta, will be realized more quickly.
“This is just a matter of time, seeing that the penetration of passenger cars (pure electric) has already reached 11 percent (market share),” said Albert.
For your information, Kalista supplies electric buses from the Skywell brand, which is a brand from China.
Not only in Jakarta, Kalista also provides 60 units of electric buses for Trans Metro Deli in Medan, North Sumatra.
