KatadataOTO – Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas), revealed at least three points of note in the implementation of the 2025 Eid homecoming exodus. All of these must be addressed so that the next homecoming season can run more smoothly.
Reporting from Antara, the first point of concern is the management of transportation modes. This is important because it can distribute congestion more evenly.
“Land, sea, air, and rail transportation must be thoroughly prepared,” he asserted, as reported by Antara (08/04).
Then, the second point is the preparation of infrastructure needed during the Eid homecoming period. From roads to supporting facilities like rest areas, everything must be taken into consideration.
“Second is the management and constant supervision of infrastructure, including road infrastructure and so on. Everything must be in good condition so that the flow of vehicles can be smoother,” he then said.
The final point is the preparation of traffic engineering management. Inspector General of Police Agus said that his party plans to cooperate with local governments to collect data on the number of people who will be going on the homecoming trip to their hometowns.
“Perhaps in Jakarta, we can find out how many Jakarta residents are going on the homecoming trip. So we will collect their data so that the management of the exodus and return flows will be truly up-to-date,” asserted Inspector General of Police Agus.
This will be carried out in conjunction with a survey to collect data on the movement of people and vehicles.
It should be noted that the traffic engineering implemented by the police to support the 2025 Eid 2025 return flow, such as the national one-way system, was stopped today (08/04) at 09:00 AM WIB.
During the 2025 Eid exodus and return flow, the number of accidents was claimed to have decreased by 30 percent compared to last year. The low number of accidents also had an impact on the number of fatalities, which was considered lower with a decrease of 47 percent compared to last year.
Not only that, the opening of several functional toll roads also had a positive impact on traffic congestion. This is because congestion could be distributed more evenly compared to previous years.
