KatadataOTO – PT Jasa Marga has confirmed it will functionally open a number of toll road sections during the 2025 Eid homecoming season. This step is being taken to reduce the traffic congestion that often occurs.
No less than four toll road sections managed by Jasa Marga will be opened functionally.
“We are ready to operate new and functional toll roads, namely the Solo – Yogyakarta - NYIA Kulon Progo Toll Road, Klaten - Prambanan Segment, spanning 8.5 km, free of charge. That section has passed its feasibility test and could be tolled, but it was decided to make it functional first,” said Subakti Syukur of PT Jasa Marga.
Not only that, they will also make the 6.78 km Prambanan - Purwomartani segment functional.
In addition, Jasa Marga will functionally operate the Jakarta - Cikampek II South Toll Road specifically for the alternative return flow from Bandung to Jakarta situationally, at the discretion of the police.
"Then, we will also make the Jakarta - Cikampek II South Toll Road functional in the Sadang-Bojongmangu Segment, spanning 31.25 km, situationally during the return flow according to police discretion," said Subakti.
Jasa Marga also plans to make the 23.47 km Probolinggo - Banyuwangi Toll Road, Gending-Paiton Segment, functional, which will also be free of charge.
"All functional operations will be free of charge, although some are actually ready to be tolled and operated,” said Subakti.
Not only that, Jasa Marga and the police are also planning to implement a one-way system at certain times. The traffic engineering is planned to be implemented from Km 70 of the Cikampek Toll Road to Km 414 of the Kalikangkung Toll Road, Central Java.
Thus, it is hoped that the flow of vehicles can be faster than under normal conditions.
In addition, the police will also deploy at least 164,278 personnel to guard several vital points during the 2025 Eid homecoming and return flows. This number consists of 1,165 personnel from the National Police Headquarters, then over 90,000 personnel from the Regional Police ranks, and 70,000 from related agencies.
The personnel are tasked with ensuring that people in crowded central points can travel home safely. They will also be deployed to anticipate the peak of the homecoming and return flows.
