KatadataOTO – Traffic congestion on TB Simatupang road has recently become more severe than usual. This is due to the installation of wastewater pipes from the Cilandak KKO intersection to the RS Fatmawati intersection.

As a result of this work, a portion of the road has had to be closed, reducing it from two or three lanes to only one or two. Meanwhile, the number of vehicles passing through has not decreased, making congestion unavoidable.

On its official Instagram account, the Department of Transportation has issued several advisories to road users regarding this work. They have even provided an estimated time for when peak congestion will occur.

List of Locations for the TB Simatupang Wastewater Pipe Installation Work

Section 4

  • Pit MS-4 In front of the Cibis Building (July 5–November 21, 2025), two lanes reduced to one.
  • Pit MS-6: In front of the Gas Station (July 5–October 17, 2025) two lanes reduced to one
  • Pit MS-7: In front of Warung Sunda (July 5–November 21, 2025), two lanes reduced to one.

Section 5

  • Pit MU-42 : In front of the Ratu Prabu Building (September 20–December 26, 2025), three lanes reduced to two.
  • Pit MU-43: In front of the Ratu Prabu Building (July 19–December 26, 2025), three lanes reduced to two
  • Pit MU-44, In front of Wisma Raharja (July 19–October 17, 2025).

It should be noted that this wastewater pipe installation is a project by PD PAL Jaya, carried out by PT Rosa Lisca as the contractor. The planned length of the work is 2.5 km.

This project is divided into eight sections, but the current cause of congestion are sections 4 and 5. Meanwhile, sections 1, 2, and 3 are located in private areas and therefore do not significantly impact traffic.

As for sections 6, 7, and 8, it has not yet been announced when work will begin.

Road users are advised to reschedule their travel to avoid the congestion. Additionally, it is a good idea to look for alternative routes to maintain mobility.
