KatadataOTO – The police have finally implemented a local one-way system from KM 414 of the Kalikangkung Semarang toll gate (GT) to KM 70 of the Cikampek Utama GT. This is followed by a Contraflow from KM 70 to KM 36 of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.
This traffic engineering was implemented on Friday at 21:30 WIB to reduce congestion during the 2025 Eid return flow.
Previously, officers had sterilized lane B from the western region to the Kalikangkung Semarang Toll Gate. After ensuring no vehicles were left behind, the one-way system was implemented.
Although an increase in the return flow has already occurred, the national one-way flag-off will only take place on Sunday, April 6, 2025. The event will be led by Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the National Police Chief, along with ministers and a number of related officials.
“We ask for your prayers and blessings so that the return flow of Operation Ketupat runs smoothly,” said Inspector General of Police Agus Suryo Nugroho, Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas), as reported by Antara (05/04).
Until the ceremonial event is held, the National Police Traffic Corps will prepare personnel reinforcements and a number of scenarios to escort travelers returning from their hometowns.
In addition to implementing the One-Way system, the police have also opened several toll roads functionally to break up traffic concentration. This gives the public more route options than before.
One of the most notable is the opening of the 31.25 km Sadang-Bojomangu segment of the Japek (Jakarta-Cikampek) II South toll road. The infrastructure has been open since April 2, 2025, from 07:00 WIB to 17:00 WIB.
Its presence is considered capable of reducing congestion at the Dawuan Interchange at KM 66 B, which is the meeting point for traffic from Trans-Java and Bandung, a point where long traffic jams are expected to occur.
To make it easier for drivers, the entire Japek II South toll route has been equipped with directional signs. They are installed starting from 1 km, 500 m, and 200 m before the entrance to Ramp 8 (KM 77 B of the Cipularang toll road towards Jakarta).
Furthermore, drivers who wish to use the Japek II South toll road will not be charged an additional fee.
