KatadataOTO – In the last 24 hours, the name Patrick Kluivert has been in the spotlight. He is tipped to replace Shin Tae-Yong (STY) as the head coach of the Indonesian National Team.
The news grew stronger after Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, leaked information about the future of the former Barcelona and Ajax Amsterdam player.
“Patrick Kluivert will sign a contract as the new head coach of Indonesia, an agreement has been reached,” Fabrizio wrote on his personal X account on Monday (6/1).
Patrick Kluivert will reportedly get a two-year contract with an option for an additional two years as the tactician for the Garuda squad.
The introduction of the new National Team coach is planned to be held on Sunday (12/1). However, PSSI (Football Association of Indonesia) has not been willing to reveal more about the issue of Shin Tae-Yong's replacement.
“The target is to reach the World Cup qualification,” Fabrizio Romano affirmed.
The name Patrick Kluivert is not unfamiliar to football fans. Because he has played for several European teams.
Such as Barcelona, Ajax Amsterdam, and Newcastle United. He also served as an assistant to Louis Van Gaal from 2012-2014.
On the other hand, while still playing for Ajax Amsterdam, Kluivert was involved in an accident. The incident occurred on September 9, 1995.
Quoted from various sources, at that time he was driving a red BMW M3 E30 Cabriolet borrowed from a friend.
The car was driven at a high speed, namely 104 km/h. Even though he was in a residential area with a maximum speed limit of 50 km/h.
As a result, Patrick Kluivert crashed into a four-wheeled vehicle driven by a 56-year-old Ajax fan named Marten Putman.
At that time, Putman had just left his in-laws' house in North Amsterdam after dinner. However, misfortune struck.
