Pertamina is asked to cover the repair costs for people's motorcycles if they genuinely experience issues due to Pertalite.

KatadataOTO – Recently, public complaints have emerged regarding the quality of fuel (BBM) from Pertamina. This has occurred in the East Java (Jatim) region.
Riders in Lamongan, Gresik, Bojonegoro, Tuban, Surabaya, Sidoarjo, and Malang have felt their motorcycles experience problems after using Pertalite.
The news has apparently been heard by many parties. Especially the ministers of President Prabowo Subianto.
“I will ask Pertamina to create a complaint post and I will check the extent of the problem,” said Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), to Antara on Thursday (30/10).
The complaint post will aim to facilitate communication. It will also provide a space for the public to submit their complaints.
Bahlil also required Pertamina to cover the repair costs if it is found that residents' motorcycles were indeed damaged after filling up with Pertalite.
“If it is indeed damaged, I will ask Pertamina to cover everything. But for now, I cannot conclude the truth; we are still waiting for the results of the study,” Bahlil continued.
The aide to President Prabowo Subianto explained that they are currently investigating the cause of the engine problems in the community's motorcycles in East Java.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, along with Pertamina, has even deployed a special team. They are tasked with supervising and checking operations at every gas station.
Bahlil Lahadalia stated that the government would not hesitate to impose strict sanctions on parties who commit irregularities
Especially regarding the content within the Pertalite fuel that has caused losses to consumers in East Java.
On the other hand, the state-owned company has issued an apology for the numerous complaints from motorcycle users.
Pertamina ensures that the distribution of fuel products continues to run smoothly so that the community's energy needs are not disrupted, and also ensures that all distributed products have gone through a strict supervision process.
Starting from the shipping terminal to official distribution agencies, as a form of commitment to providing safe and high-quality products for the public.
“Every stage of distribution is carried out based on established standards to ensure product quality is maintained,” said Ahad Rahedi, Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR for Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus on a different occasion.
As a follow-up measure, Pertamina Patra Niaga has conducted further laboratory tests on Pertalite products originating from the Tuban Fuel Terminal and the Surabaya Fuel Terminal.
In the results of these tests, Pertamina's Pertalite was declared to be on spec or in accordance with specifications.
